Week 1: Three houses


Barcelona Pavilion

Barcelona Pavilion was built by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1929. The building is used for the official opening of German section of exhibition.
Material used was high grade stone, tinted glass and translucent glass.


Rubin House

Rubin House was built in 1996 by Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron. The house is located at the foot of a hill and has the concept of childhood memories evoking the image of house.
Material used is all concrete without eaves giving the impression of being one element.



House in Bordeaux

House in Bordeaux was built in 1994 by Rem Koolhaas. It was designed for a family of parents and three children with a purpose of balancing two parallel lives which was the family and one disabled person of the family.
Material used for architecture was cement and the contrasting glass and aluminum.

Week1 : 3ds Max to Cryengine


I did upto exporting 3ds max material and geometry to cryengine. Material seemed to be exported correctly however object did not export. Barcelona Pavilion folder was created under Brush>Object, however just as shown in above image, geometry did not export properly. I need HELP :(

EXP1 FINAL : Strategy

STRATEGY
My letter and number for my island is K and 5. As mentioned in the earlier blog, the strategies are first of all terrain in a shape of K5. Along with terrain, I used vegetation, roads, water volume, shadows, texture and objects. I have arranged vegetation to create K or 5, used different texture to paint in K or 5, road path was created into letter and number shapes and water flowing in the shape aswell. Also, I have placed 5 of objects in one place.

EXP1 FINAL : Teleporation


My Island is very big. Therefore I created teleporting station where player can teleport from one scene to another by stepping up to the plane. This is "play test" for island viewer who does not know where things are. There are 7 scenes in my island and when you teleport to new scene, you can look around while finding next teleport station. You will be able to find teleport station easily since the light will blink in foggy island.

NOTE : For some reason teleporting does not work at one go. So if teleporting does not work when you first step up to plane, you should try stepping out and stepping in again then it will teleport you !

Week 6: Lecture Reflection

It was fun to see some old trailers in the lecture. I seemed very different to trailers shown these days. I was thinking about how to replace actors speaking scene for my island.

Week 6: Flowgraph


After lecture's examples, I have tried to place flowgraph on boat to flow.
However, I have problem of boat flying to the air as soon as game mode is on.

Week 5: Lecture Reflection

Logo example pictures that was shown in lecture was fascinating. I didn't know those hidden shapes until today haha. Throughout the lecture I was thinking of how to create my letter and number in an interesting way.

The strategy that I thought about to create with my letter or number (K5) is to use vegetation, terrain, roads and water volume. I have an idea of arranging vegetation to create K or 5, use terrain modify tool to have different heights, road path into letter and number shapes and water flowing in the shape aswell. Also, maybe have 5 of objects in one place.
